Having graduated from St. Andrews University in 1997 with an honours degree in Economics and Management, Alastair took up a position as a Graduate Trainee with Lloyds TSB. He worked in various roles within the Bank before joining Standard Life in 2000 as a Financial Planning Consultant.
In 2006, Alastair was delighted to accept the invitation to join St. James's Place Wealth Management. Building on his background with the Bank and Standard Life, Alastair has the experience to ensure that his clients’ finances are working as hard for them as possible.
Alastair has a total commitment to service, professionalism and integrity, which has seen him develop long-term relationships with his clients. Alastair lives in Edinburgh with his wife Gillian and their daughters Katie and Ailsa. He has a keen interest in golf and rugby.
Emma joined Gilson Gray in 2014 when the Firm was established and is the Operations Director for Gilson Gray Financial Management LLP. Emma is responsible for the operational coordination of the business and is key to delivering the strategic business objectives. Emma sits on the Board of Gilson Gray Financial Management LLP.
With over nine years of experience of working in the wealth management sector, Emma has in depth knowledge of the industry. With a degree in Financial Management MA (hons) Emma is able to apply the theory and skills acquired to developing the business to reach set targets and objectives.

Following a successful career in Commercial Banking with both Lloyds TSB and Clydesdale Bank Stuart took the decision to become a Financial Adviser and has completed his Diploma in Investment Planning. Stuart is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers as well as being a Chartered Banker.
Stuart has a track record of establishing long-term relationships with his clients and delivering on his promises. With a background in Commercial Banking he is able to offer holistic advice with a particular focus on advising corporate clients.
By working for a Senior Partner Practice of St. James’s Place Stuart is able to offer a wide range of solutions in order to meet his client’s needs.
Stuart lives in Linlithgow with his wife Helen and their daughters Amy and Zara. He has a keen interest in most sports with a particular focus on golf.
Sandra is a conscientious and professional Financial Adviser with over 20 years experience, having spent the last 8 years specialising in advising NHS doctors. Sandra is client driven, committed to building long term relationships, providing holistic financial planning advice to help her clients build and protect their wealth. Her broad investment planning experience allows her to tackle complex scenarios confidently and provide lasting solutions for her client’s needs.
Sandra lives in Edinburgh with her husband and has 2 teenage daughters, Holly and Ellie.
In her spare time Sandra enjoys nothing better than walking in the outdoors with her dog Murphy!
Having graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with an honours degree in Law (LLB) Chris spent a number of years working in the voluntary sector completing a postgraduate degree in Community Education in the process.
Chris has been a valuable member of the team since joining in 2013 and now works closely with clients to provide holistic financial planning advice.
Away from the office Chris loves to spend time with his two boys, Alexander and Charlie. Chris has a keen interest in sport, particularly distance running.
Debbie joined Gilson Gray Financial Management as our Client Support Assistant in March 2019.
Debbie deals with all aspects of administration and is particularly involved with contacting new and existing clients. Debbie is our main point of contact within in our Edinburgh office and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the Practice.
Debbie has just completed her Post Graduate in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Psychological Well Being. Debbie also works as a counsellor for Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre.
Nicole is our Trainee Paraplanner based in our Glasgow office.
Nicole has joined our team after working for the wider Gilson Gray group as Facilities Assistant. Nicole joined our team as a Client Support Assistant in 2019. Nicole's enthusiasm and professional approach to the job has led to her promotion as a Trainee Paraplanner.
In April 2020, Nicole completed her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at University of Glasgow having completed her Undergraduate in Law there in 2018.
Nicole provides valuable support to our Adviser's and clients ensuring that cases are processed in a timely and compliant manner.
