Having graduated from St. Andrews University in 1997 with an honours degree in Economics and Management, Alastair took up a position as a Graduate Trainee with Lloyds TSB. He worked in various roles within the Bank before joining Standard Life in 2000 as a Financial Planning Consultant.
In 2006, Alastair was delighted to accept the invitation to join St. James's Place Wealth Management. Building on his background with the Bank and Standard Life, Alastair has the experience to ensure that his clients’ finances are working as hard for them as possible.

Alastair lives in Edinburgh with his wife Gillian and their daughters Katie and Ailsa. He has a keen interest in golf and rugby.
Following a successful career in Commercial Banking with both Lloyds TSB and Clydesdale Bank Stuart took the decision to become a Financial Adviser and has completed his Diploma in Investment Planning. Stuart is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers as well as being a Chartered Banker.
Stuart has a track record of establishing long-term relationships with his clients and delivering on his promises. With a background in Commercial Banking he is able to offer holistic advice with a particular focus on advising corporate clients.
By working for a Senior Partner Practice of St. James’s Place Stuart is able to offer a wide range of solutions in order to meet his client’s needs.
Stuart lives in Linlithgow with his wife Helen and their daughters Amy and Zara. He has a keen interest in most sports with a particular focus on golf.
Sandra is a conscientious and professional Financial Adviser with over 20 years experience, having spent the last 8 years specialising in advising NHS doctors. Sandra is client driven, committed to building long term relationships, providing holistic financial planning advice to help her clients build and protect their wealth. Her broad investment planning experience allows her to tackle complex scenarios confidently and provide lasting solutions for her client’s needs.
Sandra lives in Edinburgh with her husband and has 2 teenage daughters, Holly and Ellie.
In her spare time Sandra enjoys nothing better than walking in the outdoors with her dog Murphy!
Having graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with an honours degree in Law (LLB) Chris spent a number of years working in the voluntary sector completing a postgraduate degree in Community Education in the process.
Chris has been a valuable member of the team since joining in 2013 and now works closely with clients to provide holistic financial planning advice.
Away from the office Chris loves to spend time with his two boys, Alexander and Charlie. Chris has a keen interest in sport, particularly distance running.
After graduating from the University of Aberdeen with a degree in Financial Management (MA Hons) Emma spent two years travelling in Australia before returning and becoming Practice Manager in 2011.
She relishes her role within the business and provides business support as well as overseeing the day to day management of the Practice.
Outside of work, Emma is very much an outdoor type and enjoys most outdoor pursuits including a daily cycle.
Scott joined Gilson Gray Financial Management as a Trainee Paraplanner in May 2018. Prior to joining the Practice he spent several years working as a Pension Administrator for Prudential where he developed his interest in Financial Planning and decided to attain his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning which he has recently completed.
Scott supports the Advisers who provide holistic financial planning advice and helps out with the day to day running of the Glasgow Office.
In his spare time Scott is currently working towards Chartered Financial Planner status to develop a specialist knowledge of Financial Planning.
Maria joined Gilson Gray Financial Management as an Administration Assistant in January 2017. Maria has previous experience of working within St. James’s Place alongside another Partner who retired in December 2016. Maria deals with all aspects of administration and is particularly involved with contacting new and existing clients. Maria is our main point of contact within in our Glasgow office and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the firm.
Maria attained a HNC in Administration and Information Technology at Cardonald College. In her spare time, Maria enjoys Pilates and spends most weekends watching her two boys play football.
